The short version
Homely Chai does not have accounts, comments or a newsletter, and does not run advertising or analytics cookies. The only thing saved in your browser is your colour-theme choice, and it stays on your device.
When you click an Amazon link you leave this site. Amazon then handles your data under its own privacy notice. This page describes what happens on Homely Chai itself.
Who is responsible
Homely Chai is a personal shortlist site run by Lakshmi Chaitanya in India. For any question about this policy or how the site works, email contact@homelychai.com or use the contact details at the end of this page.
The theme setting
If you choose a colour theme, the site saves its name in your browser's local storage under the key homelychai.theme.v2. This is a device setting, not a cookie.
- It is used only to remember your choice on your next visit.
- It is not sent to Homely Chai or to anyone else.
- It stays until you clear site data in your browser or choose a different theme.
- The site works without it; if storage is blocked, the default Noir theme is used.
Hosting logs
The hosting provider that serves this site may keep standard server logs for security, abuse prevention and reliability. Those logs can include your IP address, browser or device information, the page requested, the time of the request and the referring page.
Homely Chai does not use those logs to build a profile of you, and does not combine them with any other data. Retention is controlled by the hosting provider.

Product links take you to Amazon.in. They are affiliate links: Homely Chai may earn a commission from a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost to you.
Once you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon and its affiliates may use cookies and other technologies to attribute the visit and to run their store. Homely Chai does not receive your name, address, payment details, order contents or Amazon account information. Amazon's own privacy notice applies on its site.

Children
Homely Chai is written for adults deciding what to buy for a home or a family. It is not directed at children, and the site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Your choices
You can clear the saved theme at any time by clearing site data for homelychai.com in your browser. Because the site has no accounts and stores no personal data on its own servers, there is no profile to access, correct or delete.
You can also block storage or cookies in your browser. The shortlists and Amazon links will still work; only the saved theme will not persist.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts using a new service that changes how data is handled, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change. The affiliate disclosure will be updated at the same time if it is affected.
