Who is Chaitu
I'm Lakshmi Chaitanya. Online, most people know me as Chaitu — the name behind HomelyChai on YouTube and Instagram. I have a BSc in Nursing and have worked as a staff nurse for almost ten years.
I started making shortlists because the same questions kept coming up: which book actually helps for an exam, which kitchen tool earns its counter space, and which everyday purchase is worth the money. My days are spent around clinical work, study notes, a home kitchen and a family, so the lists are built for that kind of life.
I am not a professional product tester, a doctor or a nutritionist. I am a nurse who reads labels carefully and prefers a short, clear answer to a long, noisy one.
Why this site exists
Most shopping pages are built to keep you scrolling. This one is built to help you decide. Each shortlist starts with a real need, gives you a small number of options, and says why each one is there.
The site is deliberately plain: no account, no newsletter, no pop-ups and no tracking scripts. The picks are the point.
How picks are chosen
- Start with the job. A shortlist is built around a specific need, not a brand or a category.
- Read the listing closely. Size, materials, what is included, and the claims the seller makes are checked against the Amazon listing.
- Leave out what does not help. A product is included only if its listing answers the need clearly. The list is kept short on purpose.
- Check again later. Listings change and links break. Picks are re-checked periodically.
What the labels mean
- “On Chaitu's list” means the product is being considered or checked for a particular need. It does not mean I own it, use it or have tested it.
- “Per the listing” means a claim comes from the seller or the product page, not from independent testing.
There are no invented ratings, reviews or first-hand claims on this site. If I have not used something myself, the page says so.
